DO you remember the iconic
character of your childhood, Lord Vader? Well this is your chance to
attend an exclusive audience
with the legend behind the costume, Dave Prowse! So be warned, the
Lord of the Synth will be attending an un-missable over 18's event
at The
Cellar, Southport, Merseyside.
So if you have a question about the films or the man himself, you
can get it straight from Lord Vader himself! As well as taking
questions, he will be promoting the 'Official Dave Prowse
Autograph' called:- 'Straight From The Force's Mouth'.
Dave Prowse MBE, is best known throughout the world as Darth Vader,
after playing the physical iconic character in the original Star
Wars film trilogy. But did you know he was also in the cult film,
Clockwork Orange, playing F. Alexander's bodyguard Julian? He
was also the Green Cross Code Man and has been in many other films,
TV shows and advertisement campaigns! That is not forgetting that he
was also a world class heavyweight weightlifting champion, for
Britain, in events including the Commonwealth Games and the World
Weightlifting Championships! Today he is also well known in the UK
for his work with various charity organisations in Britain, like the
Physically Handicapped and Able-bodied Association. Dave is also now
recognised for his support of the work of the Prostate Cancer
Charity, the Urology Foundation and Croydon Carers. So if you
thought you knew the man, think again! So this is an opportunity not
to be missed and who knows what you might find out! If you buy a
copy of his autobiography, he will also sign it for free. Please be
aware however that Dave will be charging £20 for a signature on any
of the fans’ own items. On another bit of news, we can confirm that
he will also have his own photos of him on sale, also £20 signed, on
the night! For tickets to the very exclusive event and opportunity
to ask him questions, go to:-
merseyreporter.com/shop from
28 July 2012 and also you can buy in store from Formby Books or
via:-
formby-books.co.uk! Admission
is £8 in advance £10 on door if any available on the night! On offer
will also be some luxury nibbles. Also the bar in honour of the
visit will have a new drink for you to order, the Darth Cocktail!

Street, Southport Merseyside, PR8 1NY. Doors open at 7:30pm

Music fans urged to 'Push'
for their favourites!
AN innovative new website
is promising to expand the reach for unsigned bands and generate
lots of interest in their music by attracting scores of new fans.
Called 'MusicPush' it's the brainchild of James Mason
who aims to empower music fans by allowing them to vote for their
favourite music in a site Top 10.
James said:- "The music industry is really difficult for bands
to break into but if they can create a groundswell of support that's
a major plus for a record label to sign them. Reaction to the site
has been brilliant so far. There's a lot of interest from bands and
music lovers have found some great new sounds to enjoy."
MusicPush.co.uk is free for bands to join and upload their songs.
Fans then rate them or 'Push' them; to compile a
popular chart and visitors can find who is most popular with the
site's users.
James added:- "MusicPush came about because I wanted to create
a site for unsigned bands and give people a way of creating an
interesting Top Ten of bands who deserve to be signed and have
commercial success. Users can also recommend bands and singers which
is a great plus. Essentially, MusicPush is for anyone interested in
up and coming bands and helping them along the way. You also get to
hear great new music before lots of other people."
MusicPush is easy to use and already proving popular with users.
Artists have their own profile page which is easily found with their
own unique MusicPush url which has their music, a picture, stats,
and biography.
James said:- "MusicPush really is a site for the modern music
fan because we use social media to great effect by helping to
promote the band's music to a much wider audience."
Music fans get to share their music tastes via Facebook, Twitter and
email and they can comment on any artist's music or profile.
