CIRCUS VEGAS ROLLS INTO TOWN AT
SOUTHPORT PLEASURELAND
A convoy of colourful
American ‘big trucks’ roared into Southport late last
week to begin setting up Circus Vegas’ 1,400 capacity big top at
Pleasureland. While planes practicing for the town’s Air Show soared
overhead, the circus crew was preparing the performance area on the
park’s beach frontage for next weekend’s shows. The 50 year
old touring circus, which features 15 acts from all over the globe,
across an action-packed 2 hour show, is home to clowns, acrobats,
strongmen, magic and more; including its own 3 rider globe of death
motorbike act The Michael Riders.
State of the art lighting effects and technical
wizardry, together with the strength, agility, grace and
fearlessness of the performers, combine to thrill audiences old and
young, delivering an unforgettable experience. And, with
Pleasureland’s rides just a step away from the big top; with free
entry and rides from £1; this weekend is shaping up as a fantastic
opportunity for families to enjoy. Included in this year’s
programme is:- magician extraordinaire Kim Kenneth, The Bacuzza
Brothers ‘Men of Steel’ with their Strongmen Act; the
speed and skill of the motorcycle riders in the The Globe of Death;
direct from Brazil Prince of Balance Aaron Europa; Las Vegas
Dancers; a Sword & Dagger act from Italy; Duo Garcia and their
flying machine; hilarious clowns and much much more. |

High Flying
Birds @ Liverpool Arena

THE former oasis front man
Noel Gallagher was performing with his new
band High Flying Birds was at
the
Liverpool Arena, on 6 September 2012. Noel and his band put this gig
on after phenomenal demand arose on the back of his High Flying
Birds album debuted becoming 1 of only 4 albums in 2012 to sell in
excess of 100,000 in its first week. This aimed the album the
converted platinum status, so it was fair to say from day 1 that
this gig was set to be good, stomping gig. Despite Noel having a few
technical problems with his Guitar in the first song, '(It's
Good) To Be Free' the rest of the gig ran smoothly. Over the
performance he covered 20 songs, all of them crowd pleasers. They
included:- 'If I Had a Gun...', 'Soldier Boys and Jesus
Freaks' and 'D'Yer Wanna Be a Spaceman?'. The
gig ended with him playing:- 'Don't Look Back in Anger'
to the sold out Arena. This was a very carefully, orchestrated show
to capitalise on his resent success. This show continually delivered
and was truly rousing entertainment for his fans. It is also a good
example of Noel's ability to ride out the storm and showed why he is
truly ironic and so loved by his fans.
