Issue:- 03 January 2013

What is on in the cinema for 2013?

WELL, after an interesting time at the flicks last year, movie fans will be very pleased to know that there are many fantastic releases to be seen for 2013! Sadly, just like in 2012, 2013 will once again be filled with prequels, sequels, and so be aware!!! Yet that is not all bad news!  For example the much-anticipated prequel to 2001’s 'Monsters Inc.' is to be released. So is the 2nd instalment in 'The Hunger Games', along with 'Star Trek Into Darkness', plus a few British TV spin off films, like The 'Sweeney'. Already we have had the first part of 'Hobbit' and the second instalment is to come later this year, so lots and lots of block busters; but what films will be a hit and who will fall on to the cutting room floor, never to be seen again, are yet to be known. One thing is for certain, it will be an expensive year, for family trips to the cinema! This is a quick heads up and a guide to a few of the films to be out in 2013!  But as always, the releases might be moved around, so do not hold us to this time scale:-

In January there are 34 movies scheduled to be released:- Bullets Freeloaders; Texas Chainsaw 3D; Freeloaders; All Superheroes Must Die; A Dark Truth; Crawlspace; Allegiance; 56 Up; I Am Not a Hipster; A Haunted House; Gangster Squad;
The Baytown Outlaws; Zero Dark Thirty; Promised Land; Officer Down; Storage 24 Struck By Lightning; My Best Enemy Quartet; The Last Stand; Broken City; Guillermo del Toro Presents Mama Luv; Blancanieves; The Pirogue; Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters; Movie 43; Parker; John Dies at the End; Noobz Knife Fight; The Taste of Money; Supporting Characters; As Luck Would Have It...

In February you lucky fans, up to now 29 movies have been listed for being released!!! In this set you will spot one of the most anticipated motor movies of 2013:- 'The Sweeney'.... The other films hitting the screens are:- Evocateur: The Morton Downey Jr. Movie; Warm Bodies; Stand Up Guys; Bullet to the Head; The Haunting in Connecticut 2: Ghosts of Georgia; The Gatekeepers Girls Against Boys; Koch; Sound City; Side Effects; Identity Thief; The Sorcerer and the White Snake; Top Gun; Unfinished Song The Playroom; A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charlie Swan III; Ferlinghetti; Beautiful Creatures; Escape From Planet Earth; A Good Day to Die Hard; Safe Haven; Like Someone In Love; No; Snitch; Dark Skies; Inescapable 11; Flowers; Kai Poche ....

If none of those top films make you want to dash to the box office, well March still has 33 movies to offer so far... These films due to be released include the massive movie 'Jack the Giant Slayer'... One other thing to note is that you might want some coffee for the film 'Starbuck'... Only joking, not yet seen it... The others are:- The Girl Don't Stop Believin': Everyman's Journey; The Last Exorcism Part 2; 21 and Over; Phantom Molly's Theory of Relativity; Stoker Koch; The End of Love; A Place at the Table; Oz: The Great And Powerful; Dead Man Down; Emperor; Spring Breakers; ABC's of Death; Admission; The Incredible Burt Wonderstone; Hummingbird; Upside Down; From Up on Poppy Hill; Welcome to the Punch; Eden; Olympus Has Fallen; Captain Phillips; The Croods; Love and Honour; Gimme The Loot; G.I. Joe: Retaliation; Tyler Perry's Temptation; The Host; Starbuck; The Place Beyond the Pines...

Ok, as you count the cost of the wrath of the tax man you will be pleased to note that with whatever you have left in your pockets, you could always go and see one of, if lucky, like Google or Starbucks, you can see all 23 movies set to be released in April to cheer you up... So far they are:- One Track Heart: The Story of Krishna Das; Long Time Gone; Dead Man's Burden; Not Today; Jurassic Park 3D; The Heat; Odd Thomas; The Company You Keep; The Brass Teapot; Upstream Colour; Scary Movie 5; The Evil Dead; 42; Oblivion The Angels' Share; To the Wonder; Disconnect; Oblivion; The Reluctant Fundamentalist; Pain and Gain; The Lords of Salem The Big Wedding; At Any Price....

May has 4 big hitters battling it out for top spot... 'Iron Man 3'; 'Star Trek Into Darkness'; 'Fast and Furious 6' and the 'The Hangover: Part III', the rest of the 16 movies being released also sound interesting and are:- The Purge; The Hunt; Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me!; Kiss of the Damned; Love Is All You Need; Tyler Perry's We the Peoples; The Great Gatsby; About Time; Black Rock; Stories We Tell; Frances Ha, EPIC....

June will give us the long anticipated 'Monsters University' and also in that month’s 12 movies is one of the longest film titles in years:- 'A Portrait of James Dean: Joshua Tree, 1951'...  Should be interesting to see how they put that one on the bill boards! But will June by a super month in the cinima with thr release of 'Man of Steel'??? The others listed so far are:- The Secret Disco Revolution; After Earth; Now You See Me; The Internship; Much Ado About Nothing; This is the End; World War Z; Kick-Ass 2; White House Down....

July should be very fresh, as 10th biggest animated motion picture in US history is due to return, with those talking, yellow, Tic Tac characters, "sorry Mr Gru.... Minions...", in 'Despicable Me 2'. The other 10 movies being released in July are:- Lone Ranger; Grown Ups 2; Pacific Rim; R.I.P.D.; Turbo; The Conjuring; Girl Most Likely; The Wolverine; The Smurfs 2

August is often one of the best times of year for films, so these are the 17 movies due to be released:- 10 Habits of Highly Effective People; 300: Rise of An Empire Red 2; Disney's Planes; Elysium; We're the Millers; Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters; 2 Guns; The To-Do List; The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones; You're Next; Closed Circuit; Satanic; Getaway; Insidious Chapter 2.... Sadly, it is not all films on at the cinema as a well known pop band will be shown as well:- 'One Direction 3D Concert Movie', so be warned, take ear plugs as screaming teenagers will be loose!!!

Take note... September will not be all rain for this month as it is already predicted to be "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs!" Also amazing film is heading back... Yep, 'Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones', well Disney needs to make some cash back after getting it... Well the other 9 films to be released will be:- Riddick; Battle of the Year; The Little Mermaid in 3D; I, Frankenstein; Rush Prisoners; Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2; The Tomb; Runner Runner

October will have 12 movies being released for you to get your pop corn out for. Sadly, it includes a re-release of the 2005 film 'Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith'... Well, the other films are as follows:- Sin City: A Dame to Kill For; Paranoia; The Delivery Man ; Old Boy; Haunts; The Devil's Rapture; Carrie The 7th Son Malavita; The World's End; Paranormal Activity 5...

November will only so far see 7 movies being released and no wonder why, as the next part of the 'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire' is to be released... The others battling to keep audiences will be:- Ender's Game; Mr. Peabody & Sherman; Thor: The Dark Worlds; Best Man 2; Frozen

12 movies being released in December so far are:- 'Gambit Bad Santa 2'; Tyler Perry's A Madea Christmas; The Monument’s Men; Anchorman: The Legend Continues; Walking with Dinosaurs; Last Vegas; Saving Mr. Banks; Jack Ryan; 47 Ronin; The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.  Are bet is the  'The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug', will be Number 1 for Christmas in the box office, but can't think why?

If any of that did not get you running to the box office, you still have many more films to be announced, including some very special ones... So keep an eye on here for more information, as we will be bringing you some film news updates very soon!!!
