Liverpool's launch event
LAST Thursday, 21 March
2013, Liverpool Town Hall has welcomed the launch of JCI
Liverpool reception which has been
organised in collaboration with HSBC and the Institute of
Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), and was
aimed at helping local professionals and businesses.
Junior Chamber International (JCI), is a global network of young
professionals, present in more than 100 countries with almost
200,000 members worldwide, whose mission is "to provide
development opportunities that empower young people to create
positive change."
According to the organisers, the event was a great success. It
included key speakers such as the Lord Mayor of Liverpool,
Senator Philip Cavalier-Lumley, the marketing director of parent
organisation JCI UK and Liverpool City Centre BID chief
executive Gerrard Gibbons, as well as, contained some useful
practical sessions for professionals.
JCI Liverpool was founded in 1931 and one of its key projects
was the first Liverpool Lord Mayor's Parade in 1972 which became
an important annual event and ran for almost 40 years.
