DERBYSHIRE Police are
appealing for help from the public nationwide to find a man they
want to speak about a series of frauds committed in the county. In
the summer of 2009, a man allegedly tricked pub landlords in Derby
out of money by claiming to be Danny Kay; the brother of comedian
Peter Kay. He offered to put on comedy nights to raise money for the
Lewis Mighty Fund, a charity raising money for Lewis, who died from
neuroblastoma last year. The man was given cash by the landlords to
secure the booking but failed to perform. Officers want to speak to
Peter Stead (50) in connection with the incidents. It is thought
that he could be anywhere in the country. Anyone with information as
to his whereabouts should call Police on:- 101 or Crimestoppers on:-

INJURY SHOOTING - IRLAM
ROAD
MERSEYSIDE Police
Detectives are appealing for information following a shooting on
Sunday, 14 April 2013, in Bootle in which a 24 year old man was
injured.
At around 10.20pm officers were called to Irlam Road to reports of
shots being fired. On arrival there was no one at the scene but a
short time later, a 24 year old man presented himself at hospital
with injuries to his leg and buttock. He remains in hospital where
his condition is not believed to be life threatening.
Irlam Road was cordoned off by officers for forensic examination and
CCTV from the area is being examined. House to house enquiries will
also be carried out.
At this early stage of the investigation the motive for the incident
is unknown, however detectives are treating it as a targeted attack
and working to piece together the events of the evening.
At this stage of the investigation the victim is not cooperating
with Police enquiries.
Detective Inspector Lee Schofield said:- "We are appealing for
anyone in this area, who may have witnessed this incident, to come
forward. I am also particularly keen to speak to anyone who saw, or
the drivers of, a silver Volvo and also a moped. Both were seen in
the area at the time of the incident. We are relentless in our
pursuit of guncrime criminals and residents will have seen and will
continue to see Police activity in this area, however the public are
our eyes and ears and I would urge anyone who has any information
about this incident to get in contact."
