Jacklyn Cooksley-Pekepo Professional Choreographer.
Quick background:-
KAY Purcell, as a working actress is
more than qualified to facilitate the Drama Department. Her
accolades include, The Dumping Ground, Tracy Beaker Returns,
Emmerdale, Waterloo Road to name but a few. Kay is a very talented
actress and an equally talented teacher; her classes are extremely
popular and continue to expand. Kay's vibrant personality and
gorgeous character makes her a favourite here at Truth.
Jacklyn Cooksley-Pekepo is the principal teacher at Truth Dance and
can turn her hand to virtually any style of dance, Previously the
European and British Isle Rock 'n' Roll Champion. Jacklyn retired
her amateur status at 15 to dance at Granda Studios. She has danced
and choreographed for many artists and organisations, she
choreographed for artist Hanna Rose, whose hit Dreaming reached
number one in the USA dance Chart. Jacklyn continues to choreograph
for various artists today and recently choreographed the Matalan
Children's Fashion show and regularly choreographs for her advanced
teams and Preston North End Starlights. Jacklyn is very highly
qualified and teaches under the UKA & IDTA syllabus' she also
completed her degree in dance, performance, choreography and
teaching at the University of Central Lancashire. Jacklyn first
began teaching after qualifying as a teacher at the young age of 17.
She has taught in both the Private Sector and also became an
educational specialist teaching in schools for over 10 years.
Jacklyn received an Injury whilst performing professionally and was
forced to reconsider her dancing career, whilst taking a break from
dance, she qualified as a Sports Injury Therapist. Jacklyn hopes to
one day return to University to complete her MA in Dance Therapy.
Truth dance and Purcell Drama Academy run side by side, Jacklyn runs
the dance and Kay runs the drama. Each discipline is combined to
create annual shows and musicals along with the opportunity to take
exams and compete at international level. Truths senior street team
is currently competing at European level later on June 2013, the
Cheerleading team is unbeaten at competition level.
Loving Lodge Lane!
PEOPLE living in the Lodge
Lane area of Liverpool are being given the chance to show they love
their neighbourhood in a special 2 day event. "Loving Lodge
Lane" on 20 June and 21 June 2013, features many community
activities, ranging from a behind the scenes look at the Brazilica
Festival to finding out about the work of local bee-keepers to a
chance to refresh your wardrobe. But it will also include efforts to
make the area cleaner and greener with community litter picks and
the chance to get a bargain compost bin. "This is an
opportunity for local people to show they have pride in their
neighbourhood and want to see it sparkle." said Councillor
Steve Munby, cabinet member for living environment and localism,
adding:- "It is the latest in a series of events in the
Liverpool 1578 area which are bringing animation and life to the
neighbourhood and which the local communities have shown great
support. Loving Lodge Lane will involve all sections of the
community from young people to local businesses and it is going to
be a very exciting event." The full programme is:- Thursday,
20 June 2013, All day; community skips available. Garden sale at the
new Fern Grove community garden, where compost bins can be bought
for £5 (waged), £2 (unwaged) and free hanging baskets can be
collected.(10am to 3.30pm). Community litter pick; Granby Toxteth
Development Trust. 10.30am. Clothes swap, Cullen Street; a chance to
bring along your old clothes and swap them for new outfits (10.30am
to 1.30pm). Stalls and activities at St Bede's Church Hall with
local organisations including a Bulky Bob's furniture sale;
financial advice from credit unions and Local Solutions; information
and activities from local bee-keepers and Sefton Park allotments.
Free refreshments/ 3.30pm to 6.30pm. World Host Destination
Presentation; St Bede's Church Hall; an opportunity for businesses
to find out how becoming a World Host business could benefit their
firm and the area. 5pm. Friday, 21 June 2013. All day community
skips available! LMH activities; Coltart estate. Fuel debt and
energy efficiency advice, a free plant giveaway and microchipping

North West
Motorway Police Group results from Operation Coalition
ON Wednesday, 5 June 2013,
the North West Motorway Police Group launched Operation Coalition, a
clampdown on criminal activity on the regions motorway network.
The Operation involved 4 of the North West Police Forces,
as well as the Vehicle
Operating and Services Agency (VOSA), Department for Work and
Pensions, HMRC, RSPCA, Trading Standards, Court Bailiffs, BT,
Warrington Borough Council, Cheshire East Council and Lancashire
County Council.
The complex network of motorways in the North West are used by
thousands of people every day and officers from the North West
Motorway Police Group are responsible for keeping the network safe
for law abiding road users.
The nerve centre of the North West Motorway Police Group is the
control room based in the Highway Agency's Regional Control Centre
just off the M6 at Newton-le-Willows. Staffed by a combination of
officers from, Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside and
Lancashire Police operators at the control centre monitor a video
wall which shows feeds from cameras positioned along the length of
the network in the North West.
It was here that Operation Coalition was co-ordinated, with staff in
the control centre organising response and deployment of officers to
incidents and staff representing all the agencies involved in the
day of action to identified check points on the network.
The day of action resulted in 7 people being arrested
on the day for a variety of offences including possession of a
controlled drug with intent to supply, assault and theft of 3 motor
vehicles. In total, 312 vehicles were stopped and 192 motorists were
breathalysed. 111 road traffic offences were identified and 97
motorists received an on the spot penalty. In addition, 5 vehicles
were stopped and searched by officers. 20 vehicles were also
seized for being driven either without insurance or a licence or
because they were being driven in an anti-social manner.
Superintendent Craig Thompson from the North West Motorway Police
Group said:- "The day of action was the accumulation of many
months of work. Coordinating a joint operation and involving a
variety of agencies, we have really been able to bring the full
strength of the law to bear on the network. The aim of the day was
to highlight to everyone who uses the network the work undertaken by
all the agencies involved to keep them safe and disrupt any
criminal's intent on using motorway network to conduct their illegal
activity. The law abiding citizen's that had their journeys
interrupted or were spoken to at service areas understood why they
had been stopped and supported what we were doing. The Operation
delivered the right message to the right people which can clearly be
seen by the number of arrests made on the day. Drivers have the
right to use the motorway network without being concerned about
their safety whether that relates to the illegal activity or
organised crime gangs or illegal and unsafe drivers putting other
people's lives at risk. Anyone who drives on the regions motorways
can be assured if they break the law officers from the North West
Motorway Police Group will not tolerate their excuses. The motorway
network in the North West plays a very important role in the
region's economy and it is vital that we keep the network safe for
ordinary people to use and for those people in commerce and industry
to be able to go about their day to day business without fear and in
safety."
John McTaggart, Head of Operations North for the
Highways Agency, said:- "As custodians of the network it
is vitally important the Highways Agency works closely with partner
agencies like the police to help make our motorways and major A
roads safer for everyone. Our co-location at the RCC with
NWMPG is now entering its sixth year and this week's operation is
the latest example of our partnership working to help provide safe
and reliable journeys for legitimate motorway users."
Paul Airlie, Highways Agency Operations Manager at the RCC, who
helped to plan the event said:- "The
police and our own traffic officers have differing but complementary
roles and Operation Coalition was a great opportunity for us to talk
to customers about what we do to quickly respond to motorway
incidents and keep drivers on the move - as well as deliver some
important safety messages to ensure drivers can play their own part
in helping to make journeys safer and incident free."
We have also been informed that everyone involved in
this operation have hailed it a success.
