after teenager indecently assaulted on-board Kirkdale to Orrell Park
train
POLICE Officers from the British Transport
Police (BTP) are appealing for information after a man touched a
teenager inappropriately on a train. The incident happened at
around 2.30pm on Wednesday, 24 July 2013, as the 17 year old girl
was travelling between Kirkdale and Orrell Park. PC Paul Quest
said:- "As the train pulled in to Orrell Park the victim, who
was standing near to the doors ready to get off the train, was
approached by a man who made an inappropriate remark about touching
her. When she rejected his advances he touched her anyway. The girl
left the train an immediately contacted Police."
Investigative work to date has led officers to isolate a CCTV image
of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the
incident. PC Quest added:- "I believe the man captured
on CCTV has key information about the incident and it is vital we
locate him as soon as possible. The victim was left extremely
frightened and shaken as a result of the incident and I call on the
public to help us trace the man responsible. Incidents of this
nature are, thankfully, rare on the rail network, but when they do
occur they have an enormous impact on those involved."

the investigation please call British Transport Police on:- 0800 40

CCTV APPEAL -
SEXUAL ASSAULT - BOOTLE
MERSEYSIDE Police Detectives have released
CCTV of a man they want to speak to about the sexual assault of a
teenage girl in Bootle. The 15 year old victim was walking home from
a friend's shortly after 10pm when she was assaulted outside her
house. The offender approached her from behind and groped her. He
then fled when she shouted out and turned around to confront him.
The teenager then ran inside the house and raised the alarm with her
mother. She was not injured during the attack, but has been left
extremely upset and shaken. Detective Sergeant Cath Haggerty from
Sefton CID, said:- "This was a deeply upsetting incident for a
young woman to go through. She was simply walking home last
Wednesday night when she has been targeted by an unknown offender
right on her doorstep. This kind of attack is incredibly rare and we
are doing everything we can to establish who was in the area that
night so that can be spoken to about any suspicious behaviour. I am
particularly keen to identify and locate the person in this CCTV and
would encourage anyone who recognises him to call me on:- 0151 777

OFFICERS SPEAK
WITH 3000 DOG OWNERS ACROSS MERSEYSIDE
MERSEYSIDE Police officers have spoken with
almost 3000 dog owners across the region during a campaign to tackle
irresponsible dog ownership. Officers from Merseyside Police's dog
section, along with neighbourhood officers and partner
organisations, have been out and about in parks and open spaces
right across the region, as part of 6 week long operation. 638 dogs
have been micro-chipped during the course of the operation, 81
neutering vouchers have been given out and officers have seized 47
dogs which are suspected to be banned breeds under the Dangerous
Dogs Act, or have been dangerously out of control in a public place.
Inspector Mark Fallows of Merseyside Police's dog sections said:-
"The operation was launched in response to concerns voiced by
residents, and we've had positive feedback from the public who have
been pleased to see our officers out and about in Merseyside's
parks. This operation wasn't about demonising dogs or their owners,
but encouraging responsible ownership whatever breed of dog you may
have. I'd continue to urge residents to get in contact with police
if they have any concerns about dogs in their area and remind
residents that officers will continue to have a visible presence in
our parks and open spaces." |
