Aircraft 'turnrounds'
at JLA are amongst the best in the UK for on time departures.
PASSENGERS choosing to
travel via Liverpool John Lennon Airport are more likely to have
their flights operate on time compared to flights operating from 10
other top UK airports, according to the latest results published by
the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
Figures for the 2nd quarter of 2013 covering the period April to
June, show that the overall on time performance of scheduled flights
(defined as the proportion of flights arriving or departing early or
up to 15 minutes late) at the 10 popular UK airports monitored was
81%. At JLA however, some 93% of scheduled flights operated on time
over this period, highlighting that flights operating from and to
Liverpool are some of the most punctual in the UK.
When compared to elsewhere in the
North West, Manchester Airport remained in line with the UK airport
average, with 81% of scheduled flights reported as being on time.
Liverpool's figure of 93% was a slight improvement over last year's
impressive second quarter figure of 92%.
Paul Staples, Airport Director for JLA commented:- "These
latest statistics go to show that the hard work spent improving
operations and the way in which aircraft are serviced here at
Liverpool continues to really pay dividends. Our airline customers
are delighted with the service they receive at JLA and when choosing
where to fly from, passengers across the region have the confidence
of knowing that more flights operate on time from here than at many
of our competitors." |
