SHOPS BATTLE IT OUT FOR 1ST 'PLAICE' AND TO BE CROWNED CHIPPY
OF THE YEAR 2013!
IT all started on September
2013 when local chip shops start their crusade to be awarded Chippy
Of The Year, as 'Chippy Of The Year 2013', in
association with Holland's Pies', launches!
Does your local chippy serve up a winning dish? Return the favour
and crown your local chip shop 'Chippy Of The Year 2013',
in association with Holland's Pies,' by voting for them to win.
'Battering' it out to become 'Chippy Of The Year
2013', for the North West's best chippies will go head to
head in this North West chippy challenge! What's more selected
chip shops will be involved in Chippy Tuesdays, a 'Chippy Of
The Year 2013' promotional day, in partnership with Real
Radio! Chippy Tuesdays will be promoted on-air throughout the
campaign, offering listeners the chance to download a free pie
voucher
online, to redeem at
participating chip shops.
Produced in Lancashire for over160 years, Holland's Pies is one of
the North West's best-loved pie makers; producing a range of
delicious pies, puddings and pastries for local chip shops in the
North West. Whether it's delicious home cut chips, perfect pudding
and peas, tasty fresh pies, rich homemade gravy or quality fish that
makes your local chippy a keen contender, 'Chippy Of The Year
2013', in association with Holland's Pies, is asking for
chippy lovers everywhere to make their vote! What's more there
is also a £500 cash prize up for grabs, for one lucky voting
customer.
As part of a campaign to raise awareness for chip shops in the North
West, 'Chippy Of The Year 2013' will run until
December, when the winning chippy will be announced. Fans can vote
for their favourite chippy through a number of voting channels,
including online at the dedicated 'Chippy Of The Year'
website or by completing a voting form in store at
your local chippy. There will also be a Chippy Of The Year QR code,
featured on posters in local chippies, which will allow you chippy
fans to use their smartphones to link straight through to the Chippy
Of The Year website.

TO BE CROWNED CHIPPY OF THE YEAR 2013!
RESIDENTS are being invited
to remember the war heroes that lost their lives in conflict, at
special services across the UK. The Mayor of Sefton and the Mayor of
Liverpool will be joining, councillors and council officers, along
with representatives of the armed forces, emergency services and
charities who have been involved in conflicts, by attend the
Remembrance Day services on Sunday, 10 November 2013. Please
attended the services and also encouraging others to do the same.
Some War Memorials' will also have services held on Monday, 11
November 2013, so beware that these services might course traffic
disruption, as roads will be closed for them to be held. Please stop
and pay respect to all who have fallen during conflicts at 11am on
both days, if safe to do so. Also show support for those who protect
the nation, by buying a Poppy from the Royal British Legion.

Paparazzi Ian Fairbrother was out and about snapping shots for us
with a seasonal flavour. He popped in to Chester Zoo and got these
nice shots of 2 dwarf mongoose getting into Halloween spirit...
