IHP completes
project 2 weeks early for NHS
IHP, a joint venture between VINCI
Construction UK and Sir Robert McAlpine, has completed an £8m
multi-storey car park for The Royal Liverpool University Hospital 2
weeks ahead of schedule.
The project addressed staff needs by providing an additional 706 car
parking spaces. The building also has a staff office, reception area
and shower facilities for cyclists.
Keith McGreavy, Deputy Director, Estate Development, said:-
"I
would like to express my thanks to IHP and its entire project
management team. The multi-storey car park is the first major
development of the hospital regeneration programme and reflects the
redevelopment aspirations of the Trust.
The project was delivered within budget and has been handed over 2
weeks earlier than planned, a terrific achievement from a fine
company and a skilled dedicated project team. The multi-storey car
park was constructed in a challenging live hospital environment
which was in close proximity to a church. Communication with
stakeholders was efficient and timely throughout the project and as
a result, minimal disruption was caused to the hospitals and
churches day-to-day activities. I would not hesitate to recommend
them for future projects."
Martin Horton, Project Manager, IHP, said:- "The project team
have worked tirelessly in delivering the project and worked
collaboratively with the trust to meet all expectations. IHP is
proud to be involved in the first major development of the hospital
regeneration programme."
The car park is the first phase of the multi-million pound
redevelopment for the hospital, and the second phase is about to
commence. The new hospital is expected be open in 2017.

The Trust's Pride Awards, now in their 6th year, will be held on
Friday 6th June at Southport Theatre and Convention Centre.
The Patients' Award is an opportunity for patients and families to
show their individual appreciation to a particular member of staff
or team. The award is shortlisted only for staff nominated by
members of the public.
Staff themselves are nominating colleagues for awards in 12 other
categories.
Members of the public can nominate online by visiting the Trust
website or by going directly to Survey Monkey's
website.
Nominations close at midnight on 19 March 2013 and can also be made
in requesting a form by calling:- 01704 704714.
Jonathan Parry, chief executive of Southport and Ormskirk Hospital
NHS Trust, said:- "Pride Awards 2014 is the chance for
patients and their families to highlight someone who they think made
their experience of care that extra bit special.
Our staff work for the NHS across Sefton and West Lancashire in
community roles such as district nurses as well as in the many
different services we provide at our hospitals in Southport and
Ormskirk.
Staff receive thousands of thank yous from patients and families
every year but the Patients' Award is a special and very public way
of paying tribute to their care and professionalism."
