Who was the
former "Take That" star and
X-Factor Judge who preformed at
the Liverpool Arena a few days back?
HE came to fame in the 90's
in a boy group called:- "Take That", along with Mark
Owen, Robbie Williams, Howard Donald and Jason Orange... When the
group parted company, he went on to even more success with a solo
career with a long list of artists including Westlife, Will Young
and Shirley Bassey. In fact he also wrote the official Diamond
Jubilee single:- "Sing", alongside Andrew-Lloyd
Webber, in 2012. So who is this artist who played at the Liverpool
Arena on the 15 April 2014? Well this heart throb artist was of
course the one and only Gary
Barlow OBE. That was in
Liverpool as part of his new 2014 UK tour, performing some of his
hit songs from his 1st solo album for 14 years, entitled:-
"Since I Saw You Last", which was released back in November
2013. This 6 time recipient of the Ivor Novello Award and TV
personality, we found can still deliver an amazing live show on
stage. These are a few photographs taken by Keith Fairbrother for
us.

Formby Books had
a pre-Easter visit from to top authors!
FORMBY Books might still be struggling like
most independent bookshops in the UK, as they narrowly avoided
closing recently, but they still enjoy the support of some of the
UK's best authors. The shop holds regular events and organise some
superb side line functions and this was the latest event to be
hosted by the shop. On Saturday, 12 April 2014, the shop on Halsall
Lane, Formby, hosted a joint book signing with novelist June
Francis, who attended the shop to promote her latest book called:-
'Step by Step'. If you do not know who June
Francis is, she was born in
Blackpool and moved to Liverpool at an early age, where she remains
today. She gained a large following producing articles for 'My
Weekly' and now has published over twenty novels. She was
joined by Jane
Costello, who is one of the top
10 bestselling author, writing over 7 novels including:-
'Bridesmaids', 'The Wish List' and 'The
Time Of Our Lives'. The talented author was once worked at
the Daily Mail and moved on to become the Editor of the Liverpool
Daily Post until 2007. Both talked openly to fans and also enjoyed
seeing the local student artist Holly Bushnell, who has started to
finish the wall mural in Formby Books. Also attending was another
local artist, Kate Gauthier, who makes handcrafted Jewellery that is
available from Formby Books.
