Review:- 'Kaiser
Chiefs Live In Liverpool'
Report by
Jo
Forrest.
THE
Kaiser
Chiefs started their tour to a massive warm
welcome to Liverpool, at the Liverpool ACC, on 31 January 2015.
Inside the pit however it was an altogether a more unpleasant reception as we
were blasted with smoke that became so thick it became extremely claustrophobic
down there. The bewilderment of the photographers was palpable. I am just glad
that no one there suffered with any chest complaints because, from what I
believe it, was a spectacular opening to Factory Gates, but this could easily
have turned into something else..
It has been 7 years since their last hit but Ricky Wilson bounded onto the stage
with his usual trademark energy. Track 2, with a more familiar song whipped the
crowd into a frenzy, as Ricky pogoed around the stage throwing the mike around.
This group know how to please the crowd; their performance was energetic to say
the least. At one point, Ricky was running through the crowd and performing from
a small area by the sound desk... I Predict A Riot psyched the crowd up to
another level and this was followed be Pinball Wizard. At 10:15pm GMT, they left
the stage and the crowd was treated to Dave Grohl, who accused them of
'threatening to destroy the legend and legacy of
Kaiser
Chiefs'
- a private pep talk that 'somehow' got screened on the
aforementioned giant TVs. After Dave, attacked the band's lack of 'rockness'
and terrible choice of hair and hats, they then bounded back on stage,
full of renewed passion, for the finale.
An excellent high energy and engaging performance from start to finish.

Dramatic ballet film
called:- "Doll Factory" to show in Liverpool
TAYLUER Amos of Liverpool, a rising
star on Dance Mums, has taken her 1st film role in a shot dramatic ballet film
called:- 'Doll Factory'. Before this Tayluer performed in the
Dance World Cup, finished top 3 on Got to Dance and danced for the Royal family.
'Doll Factory' is a short film made by 4 young London natives who want
to tell the story of a strong confident female that stops at nothing to
accomplish her goals.
The dynamic cast also includes:- Molly Thorpe Franklin, Chloe Fenton, Chloe
Greenwood and Eleiyah Navis from Dance Mums and Dance World Cup, and are all
nationally and internationally recognised young dancers. Molly and Chloe Fenton
were part of the best dance trio for 2014. All the girls train at Nazene
Danielles Dance Dynamix in Liverpool. Daniela Cardim Fonteyne, the choreographer
for Doll Factory danced with the Dutch National Ballet in Amsterdam for 11
years. Daniela has been choreographing since 2003 when the Dutch Ballet asked
her to create several pieces for them, she is now Ballet Mistress and
choreographer at the New English Ballet Theatre.
Doll Factory showcases the struggles of a young girl chasing her dreams to
become a ballerina alongside the constant battle for her dance teacher fathers
approval. Coming from a broken home, the young lead Aliza (Tayluer Amos) starts
to worry about her place within the family when her mother has a baby with
Aliza's step father (Jonathan Nyati). With all the added stress Aliza feels
things start to take a toll at rehearsals for the winter showcase.
The creative brains behind this short film are 4 University Students, from
London, that want to make something different to the usual gritty hipster films
you usually see with London productions. The director and writer of 'Doll
Factory' (Shaneika Johnson Simms) has had her films shown at film festivals in
the UK and Europe. Her most recent documentary was part of the London Fashion
Film Festival.
The wonderful thing about this short dramatic film is that everyone involved is
doing this because they have a passion for what they do. You have a young
creative team working with even younger dancers all aged 8 to 14. Doll Factory
is a film created by the next generation of talent within the film industry.
Filming is slated to start in Liverpool on Monday, 23 February 2015. The
team have set up a Kickstarter campaign at:-
bit.ly/dollfactory so this inspiring film
can be made to the highest standard to reach its full potential and screen at
film festivals all over the world.
