Southport shoppers raise
funds for children's charity
GENEROUS shoppers turned out to support the Churchtown
Chipmunks children's charity during a fund raising Grand Launch Weekend held at
the new Harveys Furniture store at Southport.
The new 7,700sq ft concept store at Meols Cop Centre celebrated its official
opening by inviting the charity to set up a stall in the store on 21
February and 22 February 2015. Harveys Furniture previously ran a clearance store in another unit at
the retail park.
In addition to funds raised by the charity and staff, Harveys will make a
donation based on sales of selected items over the weekend.
Store manager Phil Reece said:- "Volunteers from Churchtown Chipmunks and
the Harveys team created a great atmosphere. Customers certainly supported the
charity; their generosity will help the important work they do in helping pupils
at Churchtown Primary School who have a close family member with a disability or
suffered a loss of a parent or sibling."
Opening hours are Monday to Friday, 10am to 8pm, Saturday, 9am to 6pm, Sunday,
10.30am to 4.30pm.
