The Script and Tinie Tempah have
played live in Liverpool in the same venue and on the same night!

ON 5 March 2015, Liverpool ACC welcomed
an extremely receptive audience. The packed venue was first given a very lively,
and highly entertaining, warm up from Patrick Chukwuemeka Okogwu Jr., or as he
is better known as
Tinie
Tempah. He took to the stage in front of a
very loud audience, did not skimp and delivered an outstanding performance...
Not surprising in some ways as he is one of the biggest names in urban music,
except that on that night he was in effect a warm up act! Tinie
Tempah again told the media that:- “I love
Liverpool audiences as they still sing louder than anywhere else!” The English
rapper also reportedly had a few well known fans with him, for example,
Liverpool FC striker Daniel Sturridge. Sadly, they did not perform with him, but
we are told that they could be seen enjoying the atmosphere along with the
performance on stage. Let us know if you spotted them and did you get a photo?
Then came the act the Liverpool ACC had been waiting for... the
audience by then, thanks to Tempah Tempah, had been well and truly whipped up
into frenzy, as the eagerly anticipated Irish pop rock band
The Script
Script took to the stage. Covering their
material from when they were formed back in 2001, through to present day,
including "Superheroes", this was a night to remember for
Script fans. Their
Script's music has been featured on
popular television programmes throughout the world, and used in film. With a
treasure trove of awards and nominations to go to their name, the audience was
expecting a good show... but in the end they delivered what fans said was
'an outstanding show.'
Please let us know what you thought of this performance and also
let us know who you liked the best on the night.... So who was it? Was it:- Danny O'Donoghue;
Mark Sheehan or Glen Power? Email us to:-

Mamma Mia, live in Liverpool
Photographs by
Jo
Forrest.
ON Tuesday, 24 February 2015, our
freelance photographer, Jo Forrest, popped over to the Liverpool Empire Theatre
for us, to a see the cast perform 'Mamma Mia and Dancing Queen'.
This show started in the West End and has since been a global phenomenon which
has now been seen by more than 10% of the entire UK population. It is 1 of only
5 musicals to have run for more than 10 years both on Broadway and in the West
End. And in 2011, it became the 1st Western musical ever to be staged in
Mandarin in the People’s Republic of China. Now, for a very a short time, it is
now in Liverpool and since it hit the stage on Friday, 20 February 2015, it has
had a fantastic response. If you are one of the few who have not yet see it, you
only have a few days left to do so, as it only runs until Saturday, 14 March
2015, at the Liverpool Empire.
This international show, for its Liverpool leg has some fantastic performers in
it. The cast includes:- Simon Wilmont (ensemble) who trained at LIPA and Michael
Anthony (swing) who is from the North West and attended Calderstones Secondary
School. Also appearing are Sara Poyzer (Donna), Sue Devaney (Rosie), Shobna
Gulati (Tanya), Richard Standing (Sam), Michael Beckley (Bill), Mark Jardine
(Harry), Niamh Perry (Sophie) and Justin Thomas (Sky).
All of the above, and many others deliver a fantastic show which is guaranteed
to get you singing along, in what is an incredibly uplifting atmosphere.
It is likely that many of the names listed will stand out to you, but if not,
take for example Shobna Gulati, who has had many television roles include Sunita
Alahan in:- 'Coronation Street'; Anita in Victoria Wood's award
winning BBC series 'Dinnerladies'; Nisha Clayton in the last ever
series of:- 'Where the Heart' is for ITV and, most recently, Fiona
in Kay Mellor's new BBC series:- 'In the Club'. Another name is
Sue Devaney, whose television roles include Jane in:- 'Dinnerladies';
Liz Harker, for 4 years in the BBC series:- 'Casualty'; Rita for 3
years in 'Jonny Briggs' and, of course, Debbie Webster for 2 years
in 'Coronation Street'.
A stellar cast is combined with great music and lyrics by Benny Andersson and
Björn Ulvaeus, in MAMMA MIA! , written by Catherine Johnson, directed by
Phyllida Lloyd and choreographed by Anthony Van Laast...Add the amazing lighting
design by Howard Harrison, plus the awesome sound design by Andrew Bruce and
Bobby Aitken and mix this with the acute attention to detail in the production
designed by Mark Thompson and in the musical supervision and additional
material, along with arrangements by Martin Koch, and this block buster show
becomes a must see!

38 Degrees members in
Southport say:- "Save the NHS!"
ON 28 February the action group 38

went out in, as members of the group hit the streets thoughout England.
"You can help, even if you couldn't make it in person this time. The aim is to
get at least 500 new signatures in Southport today - 500 more voices saying the
NHS is precious, and that we'll fight to keep it safe from cuts and
privatisation. Please can you take one minute to add your name now by clicking

GMB calls off latest NHS
Strike after a 4 to 1 vote over new pay offer
STRIKE action was planned to take place
on 29 January by GMB members in the NHS in England, but it was called off to
allow members to consider the new offer which does not apply to Northern
Ireland, where the dispute continues says GMB. GMB members in the NHS in England
voted, with 81% to accept and 19% to reject, the new offer that emerged after a
week of talks in January to resolve the pay dispute in the NHS in England.
Rehana Azam, GMB National Officer, said that the:- "GMB members in England
have voted by 4 to 1 to accept the new offer secured after a week of talks. This
means the pay dispute in England is resolved. So the strike action that was to
take place on 29 January was called off. This is to allow members to consider
the new offer. This was after 22,000 GMB members were forced to resort to strike
action in the NHS across England and Northern Ireland last year, on 13 October
and 24 November 2013, to secure this new offer. The new offer does not apply to
Northern Ireland where the dispute continues." Email us via:-
