17 warrants in Merseyside leads to significant drugs find

FOLLOWING the execution of 17 warrants in Merseyside on Thursday, 16 April 2015, Merseyside Police Officers have confirmed with us that a significant amount of Class B drugs has been recovered by them.

Officers conducting searches at addresses on Old Swan, Huyton and in Liverpool City Centre, have recovered in excess of 300 kilos of cannabis resin.

They have also recovered 3 cars, 2 Audis and a Mercedes, that were seized at another address in Huyton, along with 14 high value designer watches and thousands of pounds worth of designer trainers.

Detective Supt Chris Green, from the Matrix Serious Organised Crime team, said:- "This significant seizure of hundreds of kilogrammes of cannabis resin takes those drugs off the streets and prevents them from bringing any harm to our communities."

Detective Supt Chris Green, from the Matrix Serious Organised Crime team, said:- "This activity demonstrates our continued commitment to fighting serious and organised crime within these communities. This operation was carried out following an extensive policing operation and also in response to concerns raised by the local community."

During the course of the 12 month long operation, officers have recovered 7 kilos of heroin, 3 kilos cocaine, 50 kilos of cannabis resin, 45 kilos of amphetamine, 7 cannabis farm, with 550 plants and £25,000.

Detective Superintendent Green, added:- "We are intent on arresting those who are involved in serious and organised crime and responsible for dealing in controlled drugs. Today's arrests should help significantly reduce drugs activity and associated crime in these areas, improve the quality of life in our neighbourhoods and can only serve to make our communities stronger. Arrest details:- 45 year old man from Old Swan, 27 year old woman from Old Swan, 26 year old man of no fixed abode, 26 year old man from Old Swan, 36 year old man from Old Swan, 27 year old man from Broadgreen, 25 year old man from Old Swan, 31 year old man from Old Swan, 29 year old man from Old Swan, 35 year old man from Liverpool City Centre, 22 year old man from Old Swan, 41 year old man from Huyton, 53 year old man from Garston, 58 year old man from Kensington, 54 year old man of no fixed abode and a 34 year old man from West Derby.
