RIP Phil Rodwell - aka OTS (1957 to 2015)
HE was best known as 'Onthespot',

and around Southport and will be missed by all his family and many friends. We
we might have had different views on how to report the news and what is news,
but we have always had a huge amount of respect for him. All of us at Southport
and Mersey Reporter are saddened to learn of his death, that was 1st reported on
his website, OTS.
Phil was aged 57 and are are informed that he
died peacefully on 25 April 2015, surrounded by his family. He was the loving
husband to Karen, father of Joel and the late Mark. Plus Phil was also the

Gig review:- "Michael
Ball - Liverpool"
Photographs and text in this
review are by Jo
Forrest.
REGARDED as Britain's leading musical
theatre star, Michael Ball returned to Liverpool on 19 April 2015, to perform at
the Auditorium. This visit was part of a tour he is doing ahead of the release
of his 19th solo album called:- ‘If Everyone Was Listening.’ For
fans, it is hard to think that is was 25 years years ago since he started out in
musical theatre productions in the West End, with his West End debut as Marius
in the original London cast of Les Misérables. That lead on to other major shows
including taking to stage on Broadway (USA), as Count Fosco in 'The Woman
in White.' Not forgetting in the same year he also preformed in New York
City Opera's 'Gilbert and Sullivan's Patience' as Reginald Bunthorne. Plus he
now has a hugely successful radio broadcasting career which includes his own
show, Sunday Night with Michael Ball. This multi-platinum recording artist and a
hugely popular radio and TV presenter was going to deliver an amazing show and
that is just what he did! His show had him performing an energetic rendition of
'Avici’s Wake Me Up' at the start and then it just got better and
better! The Auditorium also provide to be the perfect venue in Liverpool for
this event, thanks to its more intimate feel.
