Birkdale's Independent Traders' Association St George's Fun Day
ON Saturday, 25 April 2015, Birkdale's Independent Traders Association hosted a St George's Fun Day in the village Centre . Despite the poor weather the atmosphere was very warm and welcoming, with lots to see and do. The festivities included stalls selling crafts, cheese and wine tasting, BBQ and a few fairground rides for young children, plus the event also featured a stage with live music, to name just a few things. Organisers were not only boosting the interest of locals to visit the many businesses the village has to offer, but also raising cash for Queenscourt Hospice who had been given a stall for the day. They also donated funds raised from the event to this charity as well. We are told that the group's next event will be the Summer Fayre, which is planned to take place on 8 August 2015..
