Letters To Editor:- "Reply to Paul letter - RC Cars On The Beach"
"THANK you for contacting us about Paul's letter to your paper about using RC cars on the beaches in and around Sefton. Apologies for the delay in reply. Insurance is what makes RC racing possible. If you are running a model in a public place such as the beach, park or car park then there is always a risk that you could cause injury or damage to a person or property. Hence you should consider having insurance and always make sure the area you are using is safe and you are not causing a nuisance/hazard to others. I C powered cars can be a noise nuisance and many areas will have local restrictions prohibiting their use. With regards to the beach, I am not aware of any local restrictions, however I would suggest it is not a particularly good place for an RC car as the ingress of coarse sand and salt will not do your models any favours! Our recommendation would be to look to join an organised club where you can race against others in a controlled environment with the necessary safety precautions and insurances in place. Membership of the British Radio Car Association will provide you with a certain level of 3rd party insurance." Regards Dan BRCA.Org.
