Lord Street Volunteers do make a difference
THE Lord Street In Bloom Volunteer group are passionate about keeping Lord Street floral and enjoy working alongside local business's Sainsbury's and Asda. "Our group are so lucky to have the support of Nicky Plaistow and her team from Sainsbury's and Sharon Gregory Wareing from Asda we can achieve so much more when we work together. Last week we decided to take on the mammoth task of weeding and turning over the flower beds in front of Sainsbury's store, through a recent story in the local paper Shoreline Church contacted the group enquiring about how they could get involved with the gardening sessions. I told them to come along on the day, 4 students turned up and really got stuck in, they thoroughly enjoyed themselves and worked well with all the group. Volunteers do make a difference to our Community and with the support of local business's we can achieve so much more." said one of Sainsbury's staff, Nicola Plaistow.
"Sainsbury's, Asda and Shoreline Church thanks for being part of our team on the day. We had a great afternoon and are looking at doing another big session in June. I would like to thanks Sainsbury's for laying on lunch for everyone it really was appreciated." added one of the Lord Street In Bloom Volunteers.
