Everyman showcase for creative Edge Hill students
ON Tuesday, 9 June 2015, student work
from Edge Hill University's Faculty of Arts and Sciences, will take over
Liverpool's Everyman Theatre with an exhibition and showcase called:-
'Exclaim!'
At this biennial event, guests will have the chance to view the most exciting
work students have produced during their time on the Creative Writing, Music,
Dance, Film and Television, Animation, Drama, Advertising and Computing degree
programmes.
David Peimer, Professor of Drama, Head of Performing Arts and Director of
Exclaim! said:- "We are proud of our students and staff in the Faculty of
Arts and Science, the creative home of the show and on the 9 June, we want to
share their amazing energy and talent with the audience in Liverpool."
The show will feature a wide range of work including a performance from year 3
Dance students created by renowned choreographer Gary Clarke for Exclaim!
The show will also include aerial performance
and a solo performance from recent dance alumnus Malachi Simmons who now works
professionally in the dance industry. There will be readings of work from
creative writing students, drama performances plus student produced films,
animation, music and singing.
Guests at the event can also see an exhibition of visual work and costume.
Carol Poole, Producer of Exclaim! said:- "Exclaim! 2015 follows on from
the outstanding extravaganza of student talent displayed in Exclaim! 2013 at the
Lowry Theatre Salford Quays, which celebrated our relationship with MediaCityUK.
Exclaim! 2015 celebrates Edge Hill in Liverpool, the 1st home of the University
and our long standing links with the City. It also celebrates new partnerships
with Tate Liverpool, the Liverpool Culture Company, Liverpool Sound City and LA
Productions."
Edge Hill, the UK University of the Year, has this year begun a partnership with
Liverpool’s Everyman and Playhouse theatres which will involve student
placements and internships across the full spectrum of theatrical disciplines,
access to masterclasses hosted by industry professionals, discounted tickets,
field trip visits to the theatres and applied/educational theatre projects.
