Formby Festival 2015 Opening
Night Photographs by Patrick Trollope.
ON Friday, 17 July 2015, the
Formby
Festival officially started, with some live
music and a Pub Quiz. The Friday, night was not advertised greatly, as it was
more a social night for locals and those involved, but it has given us a taste
of what is store for over the weekend... The event runs until 6.00pm on Sunday,
19 July 2015, as it hopes to raise thousands of pounds for Help for Heroes.
Their events include many activities, from cooking demonstrations to kids'
events, bars and of course live music. It does not stop at that, as it also
includes a Firework Display on Saturday Night! This might be a small event, but
what is packed into the show ground is more than ample to keep you going for the
weekend and you might even not have time to take it all in, there is so many
things to do and see! For locals who remember the old Formby show, this is that
and more! So if you have a chance, pop on down and take a look at what's going
on. We popped over to see what was going on the very first ever opening of the
event on a Friday, and our Editor snapped these few pictures as the stands
finish off setting up, ahead of the weekend. We also snapped a few pictures of
some of the people doing the pub quiz which had just started when we entered...
If you do not know where Duke Street Park, in Formby, is, just pop on L37 4AN
into your Sat-Nav or click on this
link The Show Ground also next to Formby
Railway station and within very easy walking distance of both the 2 and x2 bus
service!
