Businesses on Merseyside  are being encouraged to attended a Vietnamese Export Event

BUSINESSES take note of this FREE event that takes place at Manchester Metropolitan University on 9 September 2015.  Businesses in Southport and also within the Merseyside area are being encouraged to attend an event held at Manchester Metropolitan University's Business School which seeks to boost export activity between North West and Vietnamese companies.

The Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, in partnership with Manchester Metropolitan University and UK Trade and Investment North West are inviting businesses to attend the Inward Delegation: Vietnam Economic Forum on 9 September 2015. The event seeks to bring together organisations and individuals with shared interests in Vietnam to promote Vietnamese and UK business relationships. Professor Malcolm Press, Vice Chancellor of Manchester Metropolitan University will deliver the keynote speech.

The Vietnamese delegation will be led by the Vice Minister for Industry and Trade, H E Mr Do Thang Hai, and will include representatives from the Embassy of Vietnam and the City of Hanoi that are keen to talk about opportunities in infrastructure and development.

A party of Vietnamese companies from various sectors will complete the delegation, comprising a mixture of SMEs and large companies keen to trade with the UK.

The key sectors which will be discussed on the day include technology and software, investment and property, leather and textiles and food and drink, with a particular focus on seafood.

Professor Malcom Press, Vice-Chancellor of Manchester Metropolitan University, said:- "The University plays an important part in the city's economic success and we pride ourselves on our relationships with business and industry. Hosting this event represents a significant opportunity for us to support Manchester's international links and as a University with an international vision we are excited to build relationships with senior educationalists and business leaders in a vibrant country such as Vietnam."

Clive Drinkwater, Regional Director, UKTI North West, said:- "Vietnam is a nation that has an established history and culture, diversified natural resources, a young and skilled labour force, and political and social stability. It is an emerging high growth market full of potential, ideal for North West companies to partner with. I would encourage all businesses in Southport who are looking to find out more about export opportunities to register their interest for this event."
