Police require help
following confrontational burglary in Birkdale
MERSEYSIDE Police Detectives have released CCTV of a man who may be
able to assist with inquiries, following a burglary in Sandon Road,
Birkdale, in July 2015.
At around 2.40pm on Friday, 17 July 2015, the occupier was at home with her
daughter when she heard noises outside the house. A short time later she
entered her conservatory and found 2 men inside. The occupier began
screaming at the men, who then left the property through the conservatory
door, before driving away from the house.
The woman and her child were uninjured, but left distressed by the ordeal. A
number of items including a pair of earrings, and items from a skip on the
driveway were stolen from the property.
It is thought the 2 men, then got into a white Vauxhall Movano can,
registration:- X917GLH and drove away.
Detective Inspector Jimmy Belmar said:- "This must have been a very
frightening experience for the victim and her daughter and we're sure the
local community would want the people responsible for this burglary to be
brought to justice. We believe that 2 men entered the property, and we have
released CCTV of 1 man who we believe could assist with our investigation.
We are also keen to speak with anyone who has seen this van or knows where
it's parked or stored."
Enquiries are on going in relation to this matter and anyone with any
information is asked to contact Sefton CID on:- 0151 777 3059 or
Crimestoppers anonymously on:- 0800 555 111.

ON Friday, 18 September 2015,
Florence and The Machine took to the stage at a packed out Manchester Arena.
This amazing band is currently on the last leg of their 2015 UK/European
tour that finishes in lat December. The London based band this year, sadly
has not had a chance to visit Liverpool, but who knows what might happen in
2016? Before this highly anticipated performance was delivered, the acoustic
folk rock trio The Staves took to the stage to warm the audience up, with a
fantastic set of their own. Then cam the main act... Florence being most
definitely back and here to stay and you could see why at this event. After
the gig, fans took to social media to say "thrilling night"
and "I'd recommend to everybody to see this band." That praise
was not just down to fans being fans, as from what we witnessed, performance
was truly excellent. These are a few photos taken by Jo Forrest on the
night! If you attended, please do let us know what you thought of the show
