IT was a hard
choice to call, when we got asked to cover the
Blossoms,
at the O2 Ritz Manchester, on Friday, 23 October 2015, as we have quite a few
gigs lined up outside Merseyside and we are a Merseyside based paper... But as
the bands connections to Liverpool are strong, we thought we had to popped over
to take a look. The Ritz is a live music venue on Whitworth Street West,
Manchester, with a 1500 capacity. When Jo Forrest revived, at the gig, she found
out that the venue was sold out! It was very quickly apparent why that was as
this dynamic group made the 1920's building come alive, with the bands
distinctive psychedelic pop sound. The dance floor sprung to action as the 1st
notes range out. Sadly for Jo, this call to action meant she was going to get a
bit wet, as the dancing fans splashed a deluge of beer on her and other
photographers. But it was undoubtedly a fantastic night, despite Jo's unexpected
shower, bringing the 13 date UK headline tour of the UK to a very satisfactory
close. If you attended any of the bands gigs, please do let us know what you
thought of them, and especially that you thought of this triumphant close, to
the 2015 tour! Email us to:-
News24@SouthportReporter.com. We look forward
to seeing this band playing in Liverpool next year!

Sorry we have had a slight technical issue with this
report. As Jo is drying out from the Blossoms Gig... we will post this
review up very soon... Sorry for unexpected the delay... THIS is not
related to the bus theft... The review so far reads....
IT had been 6 years since I had last
seen Bill Bailey perform live and that was at the Lowry Theatre in Manchester.
So I was hoping he would be every bit as good as he was then. A very funny
comedian as well as a hugely talented musician I was not disappointed.
Playing to a packed theatre at The Liverpool Philharmonic, Bill Bailey
entertained the crowd for 2 hours, with just a short break in-between. We were
completely oblivious to the events earlier in the day when the tour bus plus
various personal items had been stolen....
Please help Police find Bill Bailey's tour van
and this man!
MERSEYSIDE Police are looking to the
public for help after comedian Bill Bailey’s tour van was stolen from outside
the Philharmonic Hall. Most people in Liverpool are shocked by this theft. The
silver/grey Mercedes Sprinter van was stolen with personal belongings of crew
members along with a large amount of official merchandise. A Merseyside Police
spokesperson told the press that:- "We believe the man pictured on this
CCTV still may be able to assist us with our enquiries. Anyone who recognises
the man or the man himself, is asked to contact Merseyside Police on the
non-emergency:- 101 number or the confidential Crimestoppers line on:- 0800 555
111." Thankfully, Bill Bailey has not associated the theft with our City
and as all good comedians he has seen the funny side of it as well. Please help
the Police if you can help. Lets not let this blacken the name of our good City!
Lively crowd @liverpoolphil last night- shame our tour bus was nicked from outside the venue! So gig not too bad all things considered ..
