1st poppy to be planted in Liverpool for
centenary of WW1
THE 1st of the iconic 'Weeping Window'
Poppies is to be planted in Liverpool, on Tuesday, 3 November 2015, at St
George's Hall, by Assistant Mayor, Councillor Wendy Simon. This event marks
the start of 'Weeping Window' installation preparations. This
large installation will then be fully assembled on the façade of the Hall,
and finished on Saturday, 7 November 2015. 'The Weeping Window'
will then be on display from Saturday, 8 November 2015 until Sunday, 17
January 2016 and is part of a UK wide tour 'The Poppies.' The
sculpture / display comes from the installation called:- 'Blood Swept
Lands and Seas of Red,' that was created to mark the centenary of
the 1st World War and was originally at HM Tower of London in 2014. More
