Letters to
Editor:- "Lights on bikes for Christmas"
"THIS Christmas
we have seen the letters in your editions and agree that
something has to be done about those cyclists, who are
often grown men and women. Why is this situation
continuing? Why is it, Police take any action over
motorists smoking in cars, but can't do these people?
They are a huge danger to themselves and others. Often
they use the pavements to ride on as well! Oddly these
people don't use the cyclist's lanes that have cost us
huge amounts of cash to build and maintain. Please can
Merseyside Police do something about this in 2016. This
Christmas, I agree, if anyone is getting new bikes, get
lights for them. Adverts on TV should come encourage
this, with one saying:- 'what's better than a bike for
Christmas...' It should add, 'lights on it!' Plus why
can't the cycle lanes be marked better on the coastal
road etc?"
