Bike and Go schenes
hailed UK's best
A City based bicycle hire scheme
has been named 1 of the best rental companies in the UK by a division of
travel giant TripAdvisor.
Bike and Go, which operates from participating Northern Rail stations
throughout the North, is included in a list of the top 7 bicycle hire
companies drawn up by rental company Holiday Lettings, a subsidiary of
TripAdvisor.
The list is part of Holiday Lettings' 'The UK's Best Transport Rental
Companies' report, which highlights both the various ways customers can
travel to and around their holiday destination, and the leading businesses
in each sector.
Jack Johnson of Holiday Lettings said:- "Bike and Go made it on to the
list because it's environmentally friendly and really cheap. For just £3.80
a day plus an annual £10 subscription, travellers can cycle around their
chosen destination for as long as they like."
Since launching in 2013, Bike and Go has expanded to offer bike hire
facilities from over 60 participating train stations across the North West,
North East and Yorkshire, East and South East of England, and Scotland, with
more locations due to be added in 2016.
To hire a Bike and Go bike, users simply need to register their card details
online, which they can do via smart phones, tablets, or at home, and pay the
annual subscription fee. They will then receive a user number via email
which will allow immediate bike hire whilst they wait for their Bike and Go
membership card.
Linda van der Haar, Bike and Go's business manager, said:- "We strive
to offer our customers the best possible bike hire experience, so we're
delighted that Holiday Lettings has named Bike and Go as one of the best in
its field. The UK is home to some of Europe's most beautiful hidden gems,
and casual cycling; whether as part of a holiday or as an extension of your
train journey, is a great way to switch off, exercise, and get from A to B
in a cost effective and 'green' manner."

Review of:- "LoveHistory
Loves...Crime!"
Photo by Ant Clausen and review by
Jo Forrest.
ON Monday, 22 February 2016, I was being invited to
the Press Night of St Georges Catacombs Tours presented by LoveHistory, with
visitors being given the chance to explore the dark heart of this very
historic building in Liverpool. I must admit I wasn't prepared for
what followed. I had assumed that we would be given a tour of the catacombs
with an explanation given about what they were used for. Although this was
touched on, the hour long tour talked about The Gangs of Victorian Liverpool
and was set in the early 1800's and was given by actors who played their
parts brilliantly. This was more a production than a tour per say and the
whole event is sets around the lives of a few gang members and the rivalry
between them. This production is very up close and personal with the
characters coming right up to you and telling their story, which can feel a
little intimidating. You are guided through the building as the story
progresses to the Court Room and finally deep within the catacombs
themselves where the story concludes. Despite not being what I had
anticipated, it was a hugely enjoyable evening and one I would definitely
recommend people attend. The tour runs from 27 February 2016 to 3 March
2016. Tickets are £15 and the show times are:- 18:00, 18:45 and 19:30, with
the last show of the night will take place at:- 20:15. This is a must see
for locals and also tourists alike! For further information, please
