Arrests following firearms and assault
offences
MERSEYSIDE Police have confirmed
that a number of people have been arrested on suspicion of firearms and
assault offences following recent incidents in area. Thomas Rowan,
aged 23, from Speke, was arrested on Thursday, 10 March 2016 on suspicion of
possession of a firearm and later charged and has appeared at Liverpool
Magistrates Court, on the same day. This follows on from the recovery of a
firearm at a property on The Avenue, Halewood, on Saturday, 5 March 2016. A
37 year old man from Maghull and a 24 year old man from Kirkby have also
been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent, following an injury
shooting on St Paul's Close, Kirkby, on Friday, 4 March 2016. They have been
bailed pending further enquiries. A 22 year old man from Aigburth and a 23
year old man of no fixed abode were both arrested, on Tuesday, 8 March 2016,
on suspicion of possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life, following
a firearms discharge at Pinfold Crescent, Kirkby, on 16 February 2016. They
have been bailed pending further enquiries. A male was been arrested
following a firearms discharge in Whitburn Road, Kirkby on 8 February. A 26
year old man, from Kirkby, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a
firearm. He has also been released on bail pending further enquiries.
