Appeal following an alleged assault on Musker
Drive, Bootle
MERSEYSIDE Police are investigating
after a man was allegedly assaulted, that took place on Musker Drive, in Bootle,
on Thursday, 19 May 2016, about 6.30pm. Merseyside Police have told us they
attended the scene following a report that a 30 year old man had been stabbed,
after being approached by a group of males. The offenders then left the scene,
in a silver Audi car, in the direction of Randall Drive. The victim had suffered
small puncture wounds to his back and head and was taken to Hospital where his
condition was described as "stable." We are told that house to
house enquiries are being carried out in the area and CCTV in the area is also
being checked. High visibility patrols have been stepped up to reassure the
community and an extensive investigation is underway to trace and arrest those
responsible.
Detective Inspector Mike Dalton, Sefton CID, said:- "Although enquiries
are at an early stage, officers believe the victim of the assault was targeted
and we are now carrying out extensive enquiries to establish the full
circumstances. We would like to appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the
incident or have any information which could help with our investigation to come
forward. I would appeal to those people, or anyone who saw anything suspicious
in the area of Musker Drive at around 6.30pm, on Thursday, 19 May 2016, to get
in touch with us."
