SUPPLIERS working with the NHS in the
North West are being given the opportunity to shine at a unique awards event.
Applications are invited for the NHS in the North West Excellence in Supply
Awards 2016; recognising the work of businesses and 3rd sector bodies who help
the NHS to deliver great patient care. Last year's overall winner was NHS
Blood Bikes, Lancs and Lakes, a voluntary service which transports blood and
other lifesaving products around the region on their fleet of motorbikes. Other
winners included B and M Waste Services; Impact Consulting Psychologists; Max
20; and DTT (UK).
Chair of the event organisers NHS North West Procurement Development Dr Liz Mear,
said:- "This awards event is a fantastic opportunity to throw the
spotlight on the businesses and other non NHS organisations who often work
behind the scenes and unknown to the patients, service users and families
receiving health care."
Dr Mear, who is also Chief Executive of the North West based Innovation Agency,
said:- "Anyone with a great product or service who is passionate about the
work they do in the NHS, must apply! This is the chance to build relationships
with NHS trusts and be recognised and valued as an important partner."
Mick Guymer Director of NHS North West Procurement Development, said that:-
"The awards have grown year on year and are now supported and recognised by
senior NHS stakeholders as the pre-eminent accolade for Supplier's
achievements."
