The Southport Air Show 2016
is ready for take off!
THE Southport Air Show 2016 takes place
over 9 September to 11 September 2016, and not only is it celebrating 25 years,
but also it will offer a brand new experience... This year marks the shows
'Silver Anniversary' and as a result the event will have an added
attraction, a night flight display, well more dusk than night... This night
flight will deliver new opportunities to show off the capabilities of the
aircraft participating in the event. The night flight will feature the amazing
P-51 Mustang, the graceful Blades and, falling from the heavens with LED lights
and pyros, will be the Tigers Freefall Parachute Team and the Fireflies.... But
for spectators and aviation fans, the highlight will be watching the afterburner
of the Typhoon, lighting up the sky! The entire evening will end with a grand
Firework Finale! But the aviators will also be putting on a
stunning performance in daylight hours... Both Saturday and Sunday's displays
will see a good mix of both civilian and military aircraft, plus Tigers Freefall
Team will also be performing... The show will be opened on the Saturday by the RAF Red Arrows,
making their only visit to this year's event... But things only get better!
Sunday will see the Army Historic Aircraft Flight - Sioux and Scott opening the
events' flying activities...

Please be aware that some or all aircraft might not be able to take part, should
the bad weather happen. However, we are told that the long term forecast looks
