MERSEYSIDE Police can confirm that a 21 year old man from Winsford, Cheshire has been detained after escaping from prison
custody this morning, Monday, 1 May 2017. Police were informed that prison guards were
escorting a male prisoner for treatment at Aintree University
Hospital, Lower Lane when he escaped from custody. Police
Officers attended and he was arrested minutes later in nearby
Delagoa Road.
The man has now been returned to HMP Altcourse prison where he is
serving a sentence for breaching licence conditions.
