Southport Air Show 2017
THE skies over Southport are set to
thunder with the roar of jet engines, the thrum of propellers and the majesty of
amazing flying machines for the 2017 Air Show. 3 days of awe inspiring, jaw
dropping displays begin with a special Friday Launch event. The main Air Show
takes place on Saturday and Sunday, September 16/17, but on Friday, 15 September
2017, the skies will be lit up with displays from the:- The Blades, Fireflies
Display Team, Tigers Free Fall Team and even the amazing Eurofighter Typhoon.
There will be pyros and LED lights on planes, as well as a firework finale on
the beach to end the special evening, making way for 2 adrenaline packed days of
aviation action. As well as numerous flying displays throughout the weekend,
there will be a host of fun filled activities taking place on the ground
including:- military tanks, a diving tank, a replica Typhoon and the return of
the much loved beach explosions!
Cllr Marion Atkinson, Sefton Council's Labour
Cabinet Member Regeneration and Skills, said:- "The 26th Southport Air
Show is, as ever, shaping up to be a fantastic three day event for all the
family and I can't wait to see the huge crowds across the weekend. Sefton
Council continues to offer a fantastic events programme which caters for all the
family and improves year on year. With the return of the Friday night flying
displays, this promises to be an exciting weekend for the Southport Air Show and
the whole of the borough. If you are planning to attend one of the three days,
please get there early and make the most of your visit to Southport."
