 US University students in
Liverpool, UK, can now watch the NFL action live!
THE American Football season gets
underway in the states this week and Liverpool John Moores American Football
Society (LJMU Fury) have teamed up with O'Neill's Liverpool on Hanover Street to
bring you all of the NFL action on the big screens.

The LJMU Fury, one of the largest sports societies at John Moores University,
will be spending their Sundays at the newly refurbished Hanover Street venue to
watch all the action of the Gridiron, when the season kicked off on the 8
September 2017. The popularity of the sport continues to grow in the UK and both
Wembley stadium and Twickenham, the home of English Rugby, will be hosting 2
regular season games this year.

LJMU Fury Club President Bob Evans said:- "The interest in the game has
grown massively with the introduction of the London games over the last couple
of years. We have seen player numbers increase from around 30 to over 80 a year
in the last couple of seasons, as the students start to see how exciting the
game be. This year the opportunity to continue showcasing American Football
within 1 of the busiest venues in Liverpool, was an excellent opportunity for
the Club, and the venue is an excellent place to catch the games on the big
screens."

The team will start its preparations for the new season towards the end of
September 2017, and hope that the popularity of the sport will help encourage
students new to the sport to give it a try.  Any LJMU students interested in the
sport can contact the club via:-
Facebook or via
email.

"The whole team at O'Neill's are delighted to be able to work with the LJMU Fury
team this season, and are all excited to get the season underway. The team
members have all picked their own NFL teams to support this season and will be
getting involved with dressing up and plenty of banter to support their team
heading towards the Superbowl in February." added David Cunningham, Team Leader
and brains behind the partnership with LJMU Fury.

Since the refurbishment in May, the venue now boasts 5 32", 3 48", 2 58" screens
an 80" HD screen and 3 booths with their own private televisions. Their great
new food menu is served until 10pm and features great deals on pizzas/burger with
drinks as well as steaks, sandwiches and pub favourites. O'Neill's will be
showing the NFL fixtures every Sunday from 6pm, as well as Red Zone (The NFL
news programme).
