A fantastic start to the Southport Air
Show 2017 took place on Friday, 15 September 2017, with a stunning night flying
event that started with The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, flying with the
setting sun behind... Then The Blades buzzed over, followed by a display by the
Tigers Free Fall Team. Next up was the amazing Typhoon, or better known as the
Eurofighter. Then came the Fireflies Aerobatic Team's display, as they painted
the sky with lots of colours... The flying was ended by the O'Brien's Flying
Circus (Otto) helicopter display... But even though Blackpool was having a blast
in the background, Southport had to finish its night with an even bigger blast,
thanks to Bright Sparks Firework Display Team. This was the 1st time the show
has done this and even though numbers were not massive, those who did attend
will agree that this new addition, can grow into something amazing... Full
coverage of the Southport Air Show will be in next weeks Southport and Mersey
Reporter. Please do let us know what you thought of the event, via sending an

UK Terror Threat increased
to "Critical"
UK Terror Threat increased to
"Critical," the highest level, as Police continue the hunt for the
person behind the London Tube bombing, within South West London. We are told
that so-called 'Islamic State' is being reported to have said that
it was behind the attack. The attack happened, on Friday, 15 September 2017, at
around 8:20am, injuring 29 people. The device was detonated at Parsons Green
Station, London, UK, on an Eastbound District Line Tube Train, heading from
Wimbledon. Now the UK Prime Minister, Theresa May, has spoken to US President
Donald Trump, convey his sympathies for those injured in the terrorist attack,
the White House said. Prime Minister, Theresa May has said that it was not
helpful to "speculate" on an ongoing investigation and that the
public will see more Armed Police on the UK's transport network and on the
streets, providing extra protection.
