Hospice open day for new
volunteers
SHOP assistants, patients buddies,
bucket collectors and fundraisers; St. Joseph's Hospice has a number of
volunteering roles available and will be holding a Volunteer Open Day on Sunday
4th February for anyone who would like to find out more.
The Open Day will run from 2pm to 4pm and visitors will also have an opportunity
to speak to other volunteers for an insider's view about what's its like being
part of the hospice team. They will also be able to look around the hospice and
see first hand how all the money raised by our volunteers is spent and the
difference it makes to people's lives.
Siobhan Clinton, Volunteer Co-ordinator, said:- 'Volunteering is a
fantastic way to contribute to your local community and a wonderful way to get
out and about and make new friends. Without our volunteers, we simply couldn't
run the hospice and so by donating just a few hours a week, you would be making
a huge difference to the lives of all our patients and their families at such a
difficult and distressing time for them.'
St. Joseph's Hospice has lots of plans in store for 2018 so that it can provide
more services to more people. But, finding new sources of income is crucial for
this and so there will be lots of opportunities to get involved in raising
money, whether it's through helping its charity shops, supporting fundraising
events or bucket collecting at key events and locations across Merseyside.
Siobhan added:- 'We have lots of different volunteering roles available,
for example, our shops in Southport and Formby are really in need of more shop
assistants, but we also look at what skills people have to offer so it may be
that you can help us to provide new an exciting service to our patients and
their families.'
If you can't make it on 4 February 2018, but are interested in volunteering and would
like to find out more, call Siobhan Clinton on:- 0151 932 6046 or email:-
