Victoria Cross Parade for Private Richard George Masters VC

AT Southport's War Memorial, known locally as the Monument, a took special service and parade took place, on Saturday, 21 April 2018. The event was held to commemorate Private Richard George Masters, who received the Victoria Cross, in World War 1. Private Richard George Masters VC was bourn in Birkdale in 1877 and died aged 86, in April 1963. During World War 1, on 9 April 1918, in Bethune, France, aged 41, he showed the:- ‘most conspicuous bravery and devotion to duty’ leading on to him being put forward and eventually receiving the VC Medal.  He is believed to be the only Ambulance person to have won the VC. Local film group want local community groups and local families to be on a film set within a local park

A local film crew are looking for people to help them fill a section of park in Southport, on 3 June 2018.

Wanted:- Musical Groups, Brownies, Scouts, Guides, Community Groups, Gymnastics, Cheer Leaders, Families, Dance Groups, Theatre Groups....

The non-profit film group have said that:- "We are about to start the filming of a musical film called:- Perfectly Frank. The movie is a heart warming story that is an is a quirky off beat romance. The story is told through the hero, Franks eyes. He see the world in a beautiful, magical and musical way. 18 year old Frank, suffers from Aspergers and agoraphobia and has been raised by his Granddad on a diet of 50’s and 60’s musicals, which they both adore. Frank faces a number of challenges and can only leave their house when holding his Granddads' hand. Now Granddad is sick Frank must find a way to leave the house alone. Could the blossoming romance between him and foul mouthed lovable scally Lily be the way he can do just that? This is a really exciting opportunity to be part of a feature musical film and really... just to have some fun! Plus you can help make a local film, shot by an independent film crew from the North West, a reality."
