Hollywood Stars Return To Merseyside for the FAB4000

AN amazing Concert was held at the historic Liverpool music venue, the Cavern Club, on Thursday, 24 May 2018, when the star of the TV series Grey's Anatomy and CBS Supergirl, played 2 charity concerts on 1 night! The actress Chyler Leigh took to the stage, along with her rock star husband and his band, East of Eli, to raise funds for the local charity Liverpool Heartbeat.

If you do not know already, 'East of Eli,' is a band who has created a stunning musical project by the singer / songwriter Nathan West, which has been garnering both critical and popular acclaim since its formation in 2014. His band blends cinematic folk, pop melodies and modern electronic sound to form a unique sound.

Inspired by the beautiful initiative, Create Change, East of Eli and Chyler Leigh (Alex Danvers in Supergirl) have decided to join the FAB4000, a cartoon project created by Former Marvel and DC Comics writer and Editor, Tim Quinn, who lives on Merseyside. The aim was to generate awareness and raise funds for Liverpool Heartbeat charity and also to help make the FAB4000 an ongoing and sustainable project.

Not only that, but Jayne Massey, who is currently studying performing arts and the inspiration behind the development of the lead character in the FAB4000 comic book. On the night she put on a FAB4000 Hero Costume that she has just been been given to help promote the comic and the FAB4000 project.  Plus also performing was a fantastic local band Strangers Club.  1 of the band was the father of a toddler who had undergone surgery at Alder Hey recently, and in the audience his son spent the night exploring the venue as his dad played.

The following day the East of Eli also visited Alder Hey's Children's Hospital and St.Vincent's School for Visual Impairment, both of whom had a presence at the Cavern Club event, along with the Abigail Foster, Miss Liverpool City Region 2018.

The Liverpool Heartbeat organises regular sporting and athletic events and inspires young people in the Northwest and Merseyside to pursue healthy, exciting, fulfilling lifestyles to create a strong self belief. Founded by Robin Baynes MBE, the charity continues to support local youth organisations across the Region.
