England's jade Clarke joins local School children in Liverpool to mark 1 year until Netball World Cup 2019

ENGLAND'S Commonwealth Games gold medallist Jade Clarke joined local Schoolchildren in Liverpool to mark 1 year to go until the Netball World Cup 2019 gets underway in the City.  Clarke; who is England's most capped player; joined a group of 8 children from Phoenix Netball Club for a skills master class on the piazza outside the Echo Arena, the venue for the event which takes place from 12 July 2019 to 21 July 2019.  The children from:- St Julie's Catholic High School, King David Primary School, St Edward's College, and Sudley Primary School; were then invited to put their questions to the England Roses and Wasps Netball player.

Following the event, Jade Clarke, said:- "It's amazing to be here, after the Commonwealth Games we just want the momentum to keep going, so it's perfect that we're in Liverpool getting ready for our home World Cup in just 1 year's time. The performance we put on in Australia won't be good enough here, the Australians are coming for us and we'll need everyone's support behind us."

Lindsay Impett, Netball World Cup 2019 Event Director commented:- "Through Netball World Cup 2019 we want to empower and inspire women and girls around the world, so we are delighted to have marked the '1 year to go' milestone with an event that these young netballers will always remember. We look forward to creating many more inspirational opportunities for our global netball family as we countdown to next summer's tournament."

The tournament; which is to be delivered by Netball World Cup 2019 Limited in partnership with the INF, England Netball, UK Sport, Liverpool City Council and ACC Liverpool; will see the top 16 teams in the world go head-to-head over 10 days of thrilling competition at the Echo Arena Liverpool, part of the ACC Liverpool campus.

Tickets for the event are set to go on pre-sale to anyone who signs up for the event website until 27 July 2018, before going on general sale on 19 September 2018.


Lancashire Care awarded 'Best Place to Work'

LANCASHIRE Care NHS Foundation Trust bagged an award at a recent:- 'Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) North West Branch Awards 2018.'  The local health and wellbeing provider was crowned the winner of the:- 'Best Place to Work' Award' and was recognised for its ability to recruit, sustain and develop teams within the finance department. 'Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) North West Branch Awards 2018.' congratulate and thank finance teams and aim to publicly recognise the dedication of the best in healthcare finance in the North West. The judges commended the team for understanding that the offer from the Trust's finance department, to its staff was not the best it could be and acknowledged the team's appetite and desire to improve this.

Bill Gregory Chief Finance Officer and Deputy Chief Executive at Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust said of the achievement:- "It's such an honour to have received the:- 'Best Place to Work Award' at this year's HFMA North West Branch Awards. We have been working so hard to enhance staff knowledge and skills in order to support them to feel better about their career options, improve wellbeing and make the Trust a great place to work. The event really highlights the dedication from organisations across the country and for us in particularly, has showcased the fantastic work taking place in our finance department."

The HFMA North West Branch Awards has 3 categories which recognise the work of finance teams and individuals from across the UK. The Gala Dinner brought together NHS finance managers from across the North West and also saw the presentation of The North West Finance Awards.
