Southport Flower Show 2018 - Part 1
Photos by Patrick Trollope.
THE Southport Flower Show is now taking place and what an offering it is this year. This is the largest independent flower show in the country and is being held on Victoria Park, Southport, Merseyside. It is world renowned for its spectacular show gardens and grand floral marquee, and the theme this year is 'Once Upon A Time.' But don't worry if it rains, as the event has lots to see and do both inside and out... This year its show gardens and amateur growers' gardens are both in the Marquees and in the open. They have done an amazing job and many of the show gardens and events truly have a fairy tale feel to them.
Children under the age of 16 are admitted free of charge to the grounds when accompanying a paying adult and there is a programme of entertainment dedicated to younger visitors. Children's TV Star Justin Fletcher, known to CBeebies viewers for his many characters including Mr Tumble, will be leading the family entertainment during the 2018 event, with shows on Saturday and Sunday. Plus, there are also LEGO builders workshops on Saturday. Not only that, but for the very 1st time in the history of the show, visitors are being allowed to bring along their pet dogs to the show. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times and owners must clean up after them. Bins are located throughout the showground. Dogs are not allowed in the catering or food marquees however, but with an exception for official assistance dogs. A maximum of 2 dogs per booking has been issued, unless prior agreement is arranged with the Flower Show management. The event is open from 10am to 6pm, on Saturday, and closes at 5pm, on Sunday, 19 August 2018. This year's show is not to be missed! For more information go to:- SouthportFlowerShow.Co.UK.
