a much loved Horse Chestnut tree, in the centre of Formby Village into a new

MORE than 500 families in Liverpool
affected by the Benefit Cap are to be offered help with their winter fuel bills.
To tie in with Fuel Poverty Awareness Day, that took place on Friday, 15 February
2019, households
affected by the benefit cap are being written to with details of how to claim a
free ₤20 voucher to help them with their gas and electricity bills. This is in
addition to the 150 care leavers and 900 families with a child under 1 in
receipt of Housing Benefit or Council Tax support who were offered fuel vouchers
before Christmas.

Valentine's Day
HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) was
sharing the love on Valentine's Day and encouraging married couples and those
in a civil partnership to sign up for Marriage Allowance. More than 3.5 million
couples are already benefitting from Marriage Allowance, which was introduced in
April 2015, but HMRC estimates around 700,000 couples are still eligible for the
free tax break worth up to ₤238 this year. If their claim is backdated, they

LIVERPOOL City Council and Foundation Homes
are looking for contractors to work on a 4 year long housing framework worth
up to ₤60 million.
A full suite of construction related activities is being required such as:-
groundworks, plumbing, electrics, joinery, masonry, plastering and roofing to

Over 6,500 excess winter
deaths in North West last winter
FUEL poverty charity, National Energy
Action (NEA), has released worrying new figures showing 6,800 excess winter
deaths in the North West last winter, with 2,040 vulnerable people dying as a
direct result of not being able to heat their homes adequately. With fuel bills
set to rise again, the charity is calling on the UK Government to provide
central investment to dramatically improve energy efficiency in the least
efficient homes and local Councils to do all they can to enforce housing
