The 2018 Queenscourt Hospice Santa Sprint!
Photographs by Patrick Trollope.

THE Queenscourt Hospice Santa Sprint is an annual event, now in its 9th year, that sees a sea of red, moving around the historic seafront, on Sunday, 16 December 2018. Getting ready for 2019's 10th year, they introduced a new 5K course on top of the 3K course, for participants to run or walk around. Some of those included people suffering from cancer and other health related issues, but despite the cold and damp; they came out in force... With young and old, as well as some 4 legged participates taking part, all dressed in Santa suits, including 2 lonely blue Santas. This year, again participants receive a medal for taking part and with thanks to Silcock Leisure, who provided not only power and a base to work from, but also a complimentary hot drink to all those taking part! The local family run business also presented Queenscourt Hospice with a cheque for ₤1000... These are just some of the photos we snapped at the event. To learn more about Queenscourt Hospice and also about the Santa Sprint and the Star Trekkers Walk, a 8.5 mile summer night's sponsored night walk around Southport raising, that will be in it's 21st year in 2019, visit:- QueensCourt.Org.UK.  Plus not only did the Sprint take place, but also raising funds for the Hospice was the Southport Santa SUP for Queenscourt Hospice... Yes, the local paddle boarding again braved the cold and took to Southport's Marine Lake event, at the same time!
