It was 'Madness' at Aintree Race Course on Friday Night!
Photographs by:- VAMPHire.Com.

IT'S 1 of the world's most famous racecourses, Aintree, and on 19 May 2018, the historic sporting venue was a sea of red and gold Fez hats as after the evenings racing finished, it was then 'Madness.'

Despite a slight nip in the air and the threat of rain, this did not put off most of the race goers to stop and watch a fantastic performance by 1 of the nation's most successful bands in the history of British pop culture, 'Madness.'

The event was the 1st of a series of run by the Jockey Club, mixing the races with a spectacular evening concerts. Despite the last race over running, this did not spoil the atmosphere, in fact it added to it. As the band head on stage, cries of:- "Were Not Worthy" rang out from parts of the crowd, as Fez hats bobbed up and down. Then the charismatic Suggs turned on his microphone and the action started. As the band played hit after hit, you could really see just how influential they have been on our society, as all ages joined in, singing along to the likes of:- 'Driving In My Car,' 'Baggy Trousers,' 'It Must Be Love,' and yes, they played it:- 'House of Fun.' This was a fun filled evening and delighted to have witnessed. We can't say much more as you just had to have been at the event to have experienced this legendary band play.

This was an extremely informal and relaxed open air setting, that blended well to this unusual band and it appeared to have been a highly spectacular night. If you did not see them and you like the races, don't miss the next opportunity to see this band play at a racecourse, as 'Madness' will be performing at Newmarket Racecourse, on Friday, 21 June 2019.

If you have never been to these open air events, we would urge people experience them. Other Jockey Club Live events heading to Merseyside include UB40, featuring Ali Cambell and Sstro, on Friday, 14 June 2019... Plus Haydock Park Racecourse will see Nile Rodgers and CHIC performing, on Saturday, 22 June 2019. Plus many more live concerts to come at these venues at:- Aintree, Market Rasen, Newmarket, Sandown Park, Haydock Park and Carlisle racecourses.  For more information visit the Jockey Club Live website.

We would love to know what you thought of this event, if you attended it. Please do email your memories of the night to us via:- News24@SouthportReporter.Com as we really do want to know.
