LIMF 2019 - Part 1
Photographs by Patrick Trollope.

THE Liverpool International Music Festival, or LIMF as it is best known as, along with Liverpool Gin, took place over 2 full days, 20 July to 21 July 2019, within the stunning surroundings of Sefton Park.  The event might have had a few wet spells, but all the rain did not spoil the show as the temperature kept on climbing. Just at the mercury rose so did the musically diversity and the level of fun. This music extravaganza featured 2 large big top tents, with disco's in them, a children's area, with a children's disco, plus the Liverpool Sound Stage, showcasing up and coming, home grown talent, alongside of national and international acts. Plus the main stage, that featured the more prominent acts and the headliners.

It's predecessor, the Liverpool Mathew Street Music Festival might have been within the heart of the City, but LIMF now pulls in headliners that would never have been possible at the former event. This year featured headline acts, from Ella Eyre, Yxng Bane, Maverick Sabre, MIC Lowry, Grace Carter, De La Soul, Sigma, along with Sister Sledge; Kathy Sledge, to name just a few...

This year, sadly we only got to go to Sunday's event, but with a full 9 hours of music, it was a fantastic place to have been. As the day went on, the crowds grew, along with the atmosphere.  We found that on Sunday, the event had a very family friendly atmosphere. Probably just as well, as we have so many photos from this event, we will be adding more in next weeks copy as well...!

LIMF we discovered this year as even more inclusive than it has been, with well thought-out plan for disabled guests. Not only that but busses had been put on, just for the event, giving those attending an even more portative message about the area and making it easer for people to get to and from the event.

Not only does this event brings an economic boost to the City and the Region, but it also helps us to showcases what Liverpool really is about to a very wide audience. We found people from all over the UK and also international tourists at this event. all of them commenting how friendly the place was. After asking those attending, you could yet again see why this event is starting to become 1 of the UK's best music events and why Liverpool holds a UNESCO Cities of Music title.

As normal, we have to say a big well done to all those who took part and entertained. us all, plus a massive as well as the security staff and to the St John Ambulance volunteers, for keeping everyone safe and well.

In our view, this was a fantastic event and we are sad that would could not have attended this year, on both days. But do you agree that is was a good event? Please do send us your comments via:- News24@SouthportReporter.Com as we would love to know. To see find out more about the event for 2020, please do visit:- LMFestival.Com.

Please do enjoy our photo coverage of this event... Don't forget, we have more photos in next weeks issue as well!  Also if you enjoyed this event or even if you missed it, you must make a note of these events. Over 3 August to 4 August 2019, BBC Summer Social returns to Croxteth Hall, Liverpool.  Then the amazing Fusion Festival UK, also returns to Liverpool, on 31 August 2019. Then in the North of Merseyside, Rock The Lakes Southport 2019, at the Leisure Lakes, Mere Brow, is running from 16 August to 18 August 2019 and the British Musical Fireworks Championships, from 27 September to 29 September, on Victoria Park. Plus many fantastic events we haven't listed in this report...
