Woman's body found within the back of an Ainsdale Property

ON Monday, 29 July 2019, Merseyside Police attended a property on Kenilworth Road, Ainsdale, near Southport, following reports of concern for the safety of an 88 year old woman, at around 7:20pm. Police Officers conducted a during which a woman's body was found in the back garden.  A 58 year old male, who is from the Ainsdale, was arrested, as part of the investigation to establish the full circumstances of death.  A Home Office Post Mortem subsequently revealed that the cause of death was natural causes and he was released and then detained under the Mental Health Act, where he currently remains.  The woman is still to be formally identified, but next of kin have been informed and have asked that their privacy is respected at this difficult time.

Miss Liverpool City Region 2019 at Miss England

THE Grand final of Miss England was held Newcastle, home of the reigning Miss England 2018, Alisha Cowie, at the Newbridge Hotel, from 31 July to 1 August 2019. This year the contest had more than 50 contestants taking part in the final selection, including our Miss Liverpool City Region 2019, Finley Unsworth. Sadly Finley did not make it through, but that will not be the end of of the journey for Finley, as she still has lots of events to cover as she continues her role as an ambassador doe our Region, as Miss Liverpool City Region at lots of events still to come. To give you the idea of what Finley was competing against, this years winner is Bhasha Mukherjee, who is fluent in 5 languages and has 2 degrees to her name. She holds 1 in medical sciences and 1 in medicine and surgery, and just after being crowned she had no time to rest. Just hours after winning the 23 year old began her new job as a Junior Doctor, at Pilgrim Hospital, in Boston! We are told that Miss Mukherjee said she was:- "gob smacked" after hearing her name read out and realising the judges had chosen her to be the next Miss England. So to get to the finals, Finley has done amazingly well. We will run more about the results in next weeks edition, but we would like to say well done to Finley and we look forward to seeing her continue doing a fantastic job of inspiring others throughout her year as Miss Liverpool City Region. We would also like to say a massive well done to Bhasha Mukherjee and good luck as both a new Doctor and in her new role of Miss England.

Did you know? Since win the title and representing England, at Miss World 2019, Alisha Cowie, has also become an ambassador for the Papyrus Young Suicide Prevention Charity and helping to raise over £30,000.

Don't miss The BIG Model and Hobby Show
