Miss Liverpool City Region 2019 comments about the Miss England Competition's Finals

SADLY, our 2019 Miss Liverpool City Region did not gain the title of Miss England or nor come 2nd or 3rd, but we are all extremely proud of her and her achievements. To put this in to perspective, this year had the highest number of entries nationally that the contest has ever had and the competition was fierce. Even with the support of Everton fans, Finley Unworthy faced a very hard task, but she did not give up. In the end, Bhasha Mukherjee, pictured above, who is 23 and comes from Derby, won the title. Interestingly, the day after being crowned, Bhasha started her 1st day in a hospital as a Junior Doctor, another example of just how hard this competition was.

Before of her preparations for the finals and to attend the Formby Festival, Miss Liverpool City Region had to postpone the celebration of her 21st birthday.

Speaking to us before she had a few days last week, Miss Finley told us that:- "My Miss England experience is 1 I will never forget, it has taught me how to be confident within my own skin, to believe in yourself and to never give up. To represent my City was an achievement I can’t put into words. I am so beyond being humbled with all the love and support people have shown me and my journey is only the beginning. Coming in the top 20 in the bare face round in Miss England was very important to me as I believe everyone should be comfortable in their own skin without hiding behind make up, this was one of my favourite of the rounds we had to do! I might not have been placed within top 20 of the final but that won’t stop me from working hard and coming back stronger with so much more knowledge about the pageant industry. I look forward to continuing my reign as Miss Liverpool City Region and for what the future holds."

Miss Finley not only had a fantastic time, but we are also told that she had a chance to meet 68th Miss World, Vanessa Ponce, who is the 1st Mexican woman to win the title, and many other inspirational women, including the now former Miss England, Aysha Khan. Interestingly Aysha Khan, who is Muslim, has challenged stereotypes, throughout her journey within the Miss England Contest, including becoming the 1st finalist to pose in a wetsuit for the optional swimwear round..
