Liverpool's Unity Theatre to mark 40th Birthday with a fundraising drive in 2020

THIS might not be the 1st Theatre to come to mind when talking about Liverpool's thespian side, but, in reality, it is 1 of Liverpool's premier theatres and probably 1 of the most important. In 2020 this fantastic Theatre will be marking its 40th Birthday at this location, even though the Theatre organisation is itself is far older. As a way to mark this fantastic achievement, on 17 October 2019, the Unity Theatre launched a campaign to raise ₤40,000 to expand its outreach work and to help encourage the venues wider use by the local community. The theatre also unveiled an amazing programme of work from artists, and organisations, which have a relationship with the venue, as well as other world class visiting companies for 2020. The Unity artistic director and CEO, Gordon Millar, told us that he is "very excited" about the program to mark the venues 40th year. He added that:- "Our new season represents what the Unity is all about. Our particular priority is maintaining our work within the communities around Liverpool. We aim to raise ₤40,000 to help sustain our ongoing outreach work and continue to engage people who would not ordinarily get the opportunity to access the arts."

Please do play our exclusive interview we had with Gordon Millar, that we took at the launch even, as it explains more about that 2020 has install and also it gives you more information about what they have to offer.
