Formby Millennium Committee.

 

In 2000 we held one of the biggest shows ever put on in Formby, with live battle reenactments with Vikings and also a living camp of Vikings.  On top of all that we also had a fully equipped stage and arena on the sand dunes!  This time we are going to have a Mediaeval Theme and also a Golden Jubilee and Commonwealth Games Arts Festival.  The events will be held over a week starting with the 6 July 2002 with an opening ceremony and a Mediaeval themes and also an Elizabethan Music through out the day up to the 7th with  the evening having large concerts in an out door arena in the Dunes, lake in 2002.  Then through out the week from the 8th July the arena will hold concerts from Folk Music, Opera, Jazz, Pop to Rock and Roll and Heavy Metal in the evenings and during the afternoons a competition will be held for schools across Sefton in the arena.  The event's ending to be held on Saturday 13th 2002 is still under wraps.
