Southport Reporter will investigate!
The Contractors who had started the redevelopment of Eastbank Street and Scarisbrick Avenue..... indeed the same ones who were working on the Swimming Baths Project ...went into receivership on Tuesday 23rd October. Tony, from Domestic Appliance Centre said to Doris Pennington (Chat room poster Pedoja) "Nothing surprises me anymore". She then said he asked us to investigate. Asking us to find out these questions:-
Are the council employing the right Contractors for the job?
Are they checking out the Contractors credentials well enough?
Do the council look at projects they have completed before awarding them the Contract? Do Sefton Council always choose the cheapest option?
Is it wise to choose cheap and pay dear to complete the contract with other firms?
Do the legal team look into the contractors past records?"
