Southport Annual Vehicle Christmas Light Charity Parade 2021

ON Sunday, 5 December 2021, local Vehicle clubs and firms joined up to again hold the Annual Vehicle Christmas Light Charity Parade Did you see it?

The purpose of the light parade is to spread some Christmas fun and more importantly to collect toys for donation to poorly and deserving children across the North West. Last years event had to be cancelled due to Covid19, but the return saw hundreds of illuminated wagons, vans, cars, tractors, floats and other vehicles forming a convoy made its way from Pontins, through:- Ainsdale Village, Hillside, Southport Town Centre, along the historic Southport Promenade and back, ending at Southport Pleasureland. Over 6 years this event has grown in strength, but sadly Covid19 has even affected this event for a 2nd year, with the absence of Santa on his slay. But that did not stop the fun, as drivers and passengers within its wide range of vehicles, adorned with festive decorations and lighting, got into the festive spirit. We are told that this event has now managed to get a staggering 15,000 toys donated over the over the past 6 years it has run. It is also now the biggest of its type within the UK.

The organisers of this years parade said:- "Not only is our parade about spreading Christmas cheer to everyone in Southport and of course showcasing our amazing vehicles for you all, But the main part is this below, All these amazing toy donations will be scattered all over the North West to many disadvantaged children’s organisations, Hospitals and families in need of a little bit of help, Can we just take a moment to thank every single 1 of you who took part in this years parade as without you guys volunteering your time/petrol and vehicles as without you this wouldn’t be possible, We wish you all a Merry Christmas."

If you where unfortunate not top see this event, you can watch highlights from start to finish on video hosted on the YouTube Channel, run by VAMPHire.com. You can also play it on here now!  We have also added a few photographs of the Parade on here, as you can see.
